Good evening, greetings from Colombia. As always, it is a pleasure to read you. Thank you for your time, the charts, the reflection and, in general, all the education. Good luck and I hope to continue reading you.
That's awesome. I was watching the video on how they create and use their machines. I mean nvda is powerful but they don't have a monopoly. Glad I found you. Always looking for smart people/ideas
For chart 2,negative media often triggers a vicious cycle, especially for investors. Upon seeing negative news, they become jittery and overly suspicious, like seeing a snake in the shadow of a bow. However, these emotions further exacerbate the decline of price in the capital markets, and then media continues catching headlines for those readers as describing the market crash narratives again and again. They produce profit for "Negative Influences" rather than sharing positive energy. Also, people seems more risk-averse/overreact on bad news.
Gruss Gott Macerick. I love the positivity and while humans so have the unique propensity as a species of resolving challenges and going on journeys together, our heredity is bo different to that of other animals, as Darwin long ago posited. The neuroscientist Joe Ledoux shares that the brain is fundamentally defensive, and defaults to this negative mindset quite naturally. We need rocket launchers ro escape!
This explains the strange attraction of threat eradication behaviour, which makes us dig further into our burrows.
Until we learn the psychology of ourselves instead of nonsense fantasies (like blank slate ideology, very popular) we will, I ahem fear, be condemned to repeat these states again and again.
Gruss Gott WoW :), thank you for your commentary, appreciate it! Great take, fully agree!
Indeed, the default to a negative mindset is quite natural and easy to do. Ain't easy nor to 'trick' the brain nor to 'train' it to be by default different. Also indeed, blank state has been quite strongly disproved. And oh yes, the psychology of ourselves it kind of like the ultimate level of the 'game' ... .
Research wise I force myself the following: I start with 'I know nothing', then I build on it a lot, aware that many biases will come along the journey naturally without inviting them :). But then at the end I deliberately stress test myself, very harsh and try to disprove everything I did until then ... Then I have a decent conclusion, or I am 50/50 and the answer is 'I do not know' actually ... hard and painful, but the only way one can really improve real world outcomes and practical implications. Both investing, economics wise ... and personal growth!
The Beisl, oho, plenty here in Vienna ... :) ... Prost!

.......for free. Thx. Asml should be 25% higher minimum. Monopoly of monopolies.
Welcome Gerry, glad to hear! Way more incoming ... .
ASML wise:
- it has quite a MOAT there quite for sure
- fun fact: I have 4 close friends (engineers) working there in the headquarters from Veldhoven, Netherlands
- Valuation: I see it higher on the medium-long term also
